Mensa International is the largest, oldest, and best-known high-IQ society
in the world. The organization restricts its membership to people with IQs
within the top 2% (98th percentile) of any approved standardized
intelligence test.
Since you are a smarty pants Computer Science major, you may already be
qualified for membership in Mensa. You don't even have to take an IQ test.
American Mensa accepts test scores from approximately 200 different
standardized intelligence tests, including many college prep tests that you
probably have already taken, including SAT, ACT, Stanford Binet,
Otis-Lennon, Naglieri, Wechsler Adult & Children Scales, and GRE.
You can see if your test score qualifies you, by looking at this table:
http://www.us.mensa.org/Content/AML/NavigationMenu/Join/SubmitTestScores/QualifyingTestScores/QualifyingScores.htm
During the month of April, Mensa will waive its usual $40 fee to evaluate
test scores for admission to Mensa. So you could be a member in time to
enjoy Mensa events and activities this summer. To send in your test scores,
follow the instructions on the home page: www.us.mensa.org
If you ever have questions about Mensa, you can ask me (yeah, I'm a smarty
pants, too). Or you can email them (info at americanmensa.org), or call
Membership Director, Paige Faulkner at 817/607-0060 x199.
Good luck!
:-)
Bettina
