These 'research experience for undergraduates' (REUs) look great on your
resume, as well as grad school applications.  Plus, you get paid for
learning!  If you don't have anything else planned for the summer, you could
do a lot worse.

Humboldt State University, on the north coast of California, is
accepting applications for a National Science Foundation: Research
Experience for Undergraduates (NSF:REU) summer research program.
Humboldt will host ten undergraduate research interns for the summer
of 2008, with travel and support provided, to work on research related
to Design in Computer Science and related fields.

The application deadline has been extended to March 17, 2008; please
encourage your students to consider this opportunity. The application
