I hope your fall quarters are going well, and I also hope you enjoyed
your first meeting of ACM-W. However I have to nag you about the first
meeting of the general ACM. As you know ACM stands for Association of
Computing Machinery, and we will be holding our first meeting on
Wednesday Oct 8th at DL 113 around 6 pm. As with ACM-W we want to push
for greater interest and knowledge in computing and general subjects
involving computing. Also we will be acting as a conduit with companies
and researches for opportunities.

Some of the events we are thinking about participating in this year
include: programming competitions, collaborating with the Robocup team
and with you guys on the gaming tournament. Ironically we are a smaller
and less established group when compared with ACM-W. So if none of
these interest you particularlly, there is room for a lot of input.

Of course free food will be provided. And Farhad Salehi, our former president, currently at Microsoft will be there.

--
Aaron Wangugi

Student
