We are especially interesting in your ideas for the upcoming Ohio LinuxFest 2006. Linuxfest is a free conference of over a dozen open-source sponsors and twenty speakers, all celebrating the greatness that in Linux and open source. This year, The Opensource Club will have its very own booth set up for the conference. We need to come up with ideas on how we can use this awesome opportunity to reach out to the greater Linux and open source community. Linuxfest will happen on September 30th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus. The Convention Center can be easily reached via the South #2 COTA bus from High Street. There are two registration options for Ohio LinuxFest this year. There is a free option, and a $65 All Conference Pass. The All Conference Pass offers several gifts and perks. More information about the All Conference Pass and registration can be found on the Ohio LinuxFest 2006 web site at http://www.ohiolinux.org or the Opensource Club site at http://opensource.cse.ohio-state.edu. Here are the meeting details: - *Date:* Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - *Time: *7:00 pm to 9:00 pm - *Location: *Bell-Haun Systems, Inc. (935 Eastwind Dr, Westerville, OH 43081) - *Topic:* Travis Sidelinger will introduce kernel modules. We will be car-pooling to this event. From the meetings, so far we have the following: - 4 drivers, with 12 extra seats. - 4 non-drivers. Thus, we have 8 extra seats open. If you would like to come along, please RSVP to me personally at lingo.13@osu.edu no later than 5:00pm. If you do not, you are not guaranteed a ride. If you are going to drive yourself and would like to offer seats for others, please e-mail me and let me know as well. We will all meet in front of Dreese Labs at 6:00pm. Passengers will then be divided up amongst drivers, and we will leave at 6:15. Plan to be returned to campus at around 10:00pm.
