(If the people in that room are lingering, then we'll meet in the room next to it if its free -- room 264.) Tonight's Schedule ********************* With our funding for new equipment (computers), I'd like to buy some new equipment online for our lab. I.E get a new pc and/or notebook, which would lead us into next weeks meeting were we would be installing Ubuntu, selling back Windows, and then using that money for food / coffee / t-shirt / pack of gum / stamp for letter to bill gates. But additionally I think it would be cool if we created a project/app for the Android platform (http://code.google.com/android/adc.html), and then dedicated some of our weekly meetings towards developing it. So... come with a head full of ideas, and hopefully The Open Source Club @ Ohio State will have something to submit by March 3rd. There is grant money and some good experience to be made from this. ******************** Meetings are typically every Thursday @ 7pm meeting in Dreese Lab 266. -- == Peter Dietz Computer Science & Engineering -- The Ohio State University -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... For the uninitiated, Open Solaris is Sun's open source project. Open Solaris development becomes source code for the next Solaris Operating System. Thus a community based approach towards improving the Operating System. We welcome everybody to come out and find out what Sun's big project is. For additional information, check out the project homepage: http://opensolaris.org/os/ Opensource Club Meeting Details Who: Sun Microsystems When: this Tuesday Janurary 28th at 7pm Where: Dreese Labs room 317 Free: pizza and drinks, plus maybe some Sun swag One of the projects in Open Solaris is the code browser OpenGrok, which is dubbed as "wicked fast", and anything that dubs itself wicked anything is wicked cool in my book. http://opensource.cse.ohio-state.edu -- == Peter Dietz Computer Science & Engineering -- The Ohio State University -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
