Yeah, ATI refuses to implement the extension that you need for Feisty's
desktop effects (Compiz). To fix it, run:

sudo sed -i -e 's/fglrx/ati/g' /etc/X11/xorg.conf

(or find the Driver line in that file and replace 'fglrx' with 'ati')

Then reboot and it should be back again
