I haven't messed with this much, but if you are using the bash shell
.bashrc set the environment variable for the prompt.  If you want to
override it briefly you can modify the environment variable PS1 to make
it whatever you would like.  However, if you want the change to be
persistent you'll have to set this every time you open a new shell (by
modifying the ./bashrc file).  For example, if you want a non colored
prompt with username at host > you would run the command PS1="\u@\H >".

Hey all,

Is there a way to change the color of "username at comp:~$"?
It's very annoying when trying to scroll up to see a particular output 
and having to spend most of the time searching to find which lines were 
output lines.
